The idea that dancing was forbidden seems so far-fetched – but then again most cities in California require a special permit for any business to have a dance floor and allow dancing. So the comment that if your are “cool, and intellectual you don’t move,” seems false. Is see those people move all the time when goth, industrial, and sometimes when jungle or dub step comes on–they just hate house and anything with a drum circle. Just because they don’t move at the same time as everyone else or to the same beat as the majority of society does not mean they should be disparaged.
