Practice Yoga on a Budget

With America’s current financial situation, most families are being forced to make cuts to the family budget. These families are being forced to reduce or eliminate luxuries that were once a common part of every day life. Many frugal families are being forced to cut out gym memberships, but there are many other alternatives for free recreation and exercise that we need for a healthy lifestyle. One of these alternatives is free yoga. The option to be lead through free daily yoga practices, in the comfort of your home, can greatly help us through this difficult time. These yoga practices are beneficial in building strength, flexibility, flushing impurities out of our bodies (through twisting moves) and reducing stress.

Yoga Today (http://www.yogatoday.com) offers daily streaming video yoga classes (lasting about 1 hour each). A new class is added to the site each day, and previous classes are available for about a week. You can view and follow any of these current practices for free, after watching the equivalent of a TV commercial. The listing of classes tells a little about each practice, the part of the body or type of yoga that will b e practiced and the difficulty of the session (beginner, intermediate, advanced, or all levels). I would highly suggest you choosing a beginner program to start with. Even though yoga may look rather easy, it does take quite a bit of skill and experience to move up to the advanced moves.

Yoga Today is currently working on providing an archive of past classes that will be available to download for a small fee. You may also want to sign up for their mailing list. They will send you weekly class schedules of upcoming classes with a short description of the class and the level of difficulty.
